FAQ:
Q: How do I place an order?
A: It’s simple and only takes three easy steps:
Get an eye exam for a current prescription. Already had an exam? Great! Visit or call your optometrist and ask for a legible prescription. Legally, your doctor must provide you with a written copy of your prescription.
Pick out your desired frames at www.glassesUSA.com, submit your prescription via our online form, or just send it to us via Fax / email and then pay for your item.

Q: What do I need before ordering from you?
A: Prior to ordering from us, please have your eyeglass prescription available and a credit card or Paypal account. It’s just that easy! Your eye doctor must, by law, give you a copy of your eyeglass prescription.

Q: How do I get a prescription?
A: Simply visit your optician and get an eye exam and be sure to ask your doctor for your PD (pupillary distance) measurement. Your doctor – by law – must provide you with a copy of your prescription when asked.

Q: I’m having problem with reading and understanding my prescription
A: Having problem with reading your prescription? Click here for our guide:

Note: When sending your prescription by fax or by e-mail – please write your full name and order confirmation number given to you at the end of the order

Q: How can you charge such low prices?
A:We cut out the middleman because we own our labs and equipment. This cuts out our overhead costs – passing along the savings to you!

Q: Can I order frames with non-prescription lenses?
A: Absolutely! You are more than welcome to order frames with clear, plastic lenses sans prescription! Just select “Frames Only”. Then, instead of inserting a prescription, select “00-Plano” for fashion frames.

Q: What if my frames need adjusting after I get them?
A: Most optical stores will do minor adjustments for a small fee or even for free! If you still have problems after that, give us a call at 800-917-7083 or send us an e-mail at service@glassesusa.com.

Q: What is your privacy policy?
A: We respect your privacy and we will not disclose, rent or sell your e-mail address or other contact information to any other company. We collect this information to be able to process your order efficiently and only for this reason.
All information about you is maintained with strict confidence and taken seriously. Should you ever wish to be removed from our email list at GlassesUSA, we will process your request immediately.
For more information, please visit our complete privacy policy.

Q: What are your lenses made of?
A: We use lightweight optical plastic lenses in most of our glasses. We offer thin and ultra thin lenses. “Thin” reduces the thickness of the lens by 14%, while “Ultra thin” will reduce it by 33%. Thin lenses are used in our rimless glasses to provide extra strength. Currently, we do not offer glass lenses.

Q: Do you sell prescription sunglasses and other tinted lenses?
A: We have a large variety of colored, polarized tints for lenses and our prescription sunglasses come with a dark tint – like any pair of standard sunglasses. We also offer transition lenses, which are clear in everyday normally lit conditions but the tint turns dark in stronger sunlight. Transitions also have a 100% UV filter. All of these options are available on our order form.

Q: Do you sell lens coatings and tints?
A: We offer a variety of lens coatings and tints:
Color tints: Gray, Green, Brown
Anti-reflective coating: excellent for driving and when you use the computer.
UV 400 protective coating: sun-screen for the eyes.
Scratch-resistant coating: helps to avoid bumps and knocks.

Q: Do you sell bifocal lenses?
A: Bifocals are available on a wide variety of our frames. We only suggest bifocals to customers who have had them recommended by their optician. Click here for our bifocal lenses.

Q: What is the segment shape of bifocal lenses?
A: The standard size is D28 – these are 28mm wide ‘D’ shaped segments that are positioned 3mm below the center of the lens vertically and they are centered on your pupillary distance horizontally. If you need them to be positioned further up, please state this on your order form.

Q: Do you sell varifocal/progressive lenses?
A: Yes we do! click here for our Varifocal / Progressive lenses collection

Q: How long will my glasses take to be delivered?
A: Our terms state that delivery CAN take up to 28 days but delivery is usually no-longer than 14 days. Delivery is also subject to the complexity of the prescription and coatings. Delivery time does not include the 3-5 day processing time.
Please enter ALL the numbers for the categories in your prescription – they are what we use to determine which lenses you will need.

Q: Can I use my contact lens prescription for ordering prescription eyeglasses?
A: Unfortunately, no, we cannot accept prescriptions meant for contact lenses in place of prescriptions designed for eyeglasses. Doctors make small changes to contact lens prescriptions that they do not make to prescription eyeglasses. We recommend asking your optician for an eyeglass prescription.

Q: What is my pupillary distance (PD)?
A: Pupillary distance simply means the distance between your pupils.

Q: How do I find out what my pupillary distance (PD) is?
A: In order for our glasses to perform at their best, we need to create lenses that can match the distance between your eyes, so the center of each lens aligns with the center of your pupils. For this reason, we need your pupillary distance measurement – also known as the PD measurement.
Unfortunately, many opticians don’t include your PD in the prescription. However, you can ask your optician for it directly during your eye exam. If you already have your prescription, we can make your glasses using the average PD measurement. While it works well for most customers, it can cause discomfort or strain for others. If you have a strong prescription or your PD is significantly differently from the average, you may experience some problems with eyeglasses that have the average PD measurement.
Pupillary distance CAN be measured on your own with a tape measure. If you chose to measure your own PD, please do so in millimeters. Simply have someone measure from the middle of the left pupil through to the middle of the right pupil. Make sure you are looking straight forward at a distant object.
Average PD is about 62mm and most people fall within the 54 to 74 range. If your number is outside this range, you might be making a mistake. Please do not guess or assume your PD.
Occasionally, PD is written like 32/34.5 (for example), which means the measurement from the center of the nose to either eye, and your PD is the sum of the two – 32+34.5=66.5 (Mono R + Mono L = PD) and you can enter this as 66 or 67.
In your measurement, if you are off by a millimeter or two it’s OK. Try to be as accurate as possible, especially for progressive lenses.
You may also be able to get your PD from a previous optician. Unlike a prescription, your PD does not expire with age. Opticians are required, under federal law, to give you your PD as well as your full prescription. It is considered to be your property.

Q: How do I read my prescription?
A: Having problem with reading your prescription? Click here for our prescription reading guide If you prefer you can also send us your prescription by email or via Fax and our opticians will read your prescription for you, with no any extra charge.

Q: I can’t read my prescription very well, what do I do?
A: If you prefer, you can also send us your prescription by e-mail or via Fax and our opticians will read your prescription for you, with no any extra charge. Simply scan your prescription and e-mail it to prescription @ glassesusa.comcom or fax it to: 1-888-250-6925. Note: When sending your prescription by fax or by e-mail – please write your full name and order confirmation number given to you at the end of the order
